Quest

Amateur football stands still. So clubs get a new pitch where they can compete for their colours.

No matches, no club nights, no pitch. During lockdown, amateur football moved to the console with kicker and EarlyGame. In the kicker Heimspiel Cup, players from youth teams up to the Regionalliga competed in FIFA for their clubs. Selected matches ran on Twitch, and the final also played for money for the club kitty. The first edition drew 3,704 sign-ups, the third another 1,383. Across all editions, more than 5,000 people took part. Club life was suddenly possible again, only digital.

My part

I developed the tournament concept, steered execution and looked after Twitch partnerships and the community. What mattered was that players visibly competed for their club.
